A day of mixed emotions, very low and slow river. Eventually found the fish but was hounded by canoes. There was well over 100 slammed into the bank I was literally sat on broke my line about 10 times and finally broke my net. So what should have been a great day was ruined by ignorant canoeists. Something needs to be done about this.

Water low and clear as expected with plenty of leaves now falling making it look quite autumnal.
3 Grayling and 1 trout all over 12 inches on nymph at the bottom end.
Nothing from the big pool at the top.

Water level extremely low. One Rainbow trout returned just under 12” looked freshly stocked and in good health was taken on a 10g Toby. Lots of red signal cray fish around if fishing with ledger.

Bright day with gusty downstream wind. Water v low. Only second visit here so for newbies would add following to beat description. The lane to the beat is adjacent to the church, not opposite it. Access is definitely not suitable for anyone with any mobility issues (knees/hips etc) as from parking to river is v steep and narrow path and once there some of the swims are fished from slightly precarious stances. You will lose some gear and you need to embrace your inner canoeist. Really good day with fish spread out a bit. Also a v big eel, prob 3lbs. Picturesque, kingfishers and other wildlife. Will be back for sure.

Fished the West Bank but found it difficult to find space to fish due to tree cover. Did lots of walking, little fishing. Beautiful place, any chance of a little more guidance regarding access points on the website?
