Personally not a very experienced fly angler so I put my lack of fish down to that as there were plenty of rises and shows from trout.

Two trout on streamer not a lot of surface activity fished hard for most of the visit stopped for a tea break heard screeching up on the road . A worried younger couple came down and asked grandad if I could change their near side front wheel they did not have a clue one was in one's waders and they asked if was fishing anyway wheel was changed and they were off on their merry way to Bristol from Aberystwyth strange. So I did catch a Ten pounder ha. Ha. By the way the trout were about a 1 pound in weight

Spent the day dry fly fishing between 35 and 43 spots. Didn't catch anything, but not surprised as Im new to fly fishing. Really enjoyed it though.
It was overcast all day with a slight misty rain drizzle at times. Hope to be back soon to get some more practice and maybe catch something. Bonus was had an otter enter the river right in front of me and shoot up river. Hope he had more luck than i did. Can't wait to get down on the river again.

River low and a horrible algae brown. Fished 3 swims to learn the stretch. caught chub in all of them on trotted pellets and meat. Best around 4.5lb
Didnt stay for the evening - so maybe the barbel would have fed later......

30 Chub
