Good fishing early morning worm and ledger. Got quiet around midday.

First foray out to this beat.....a lovely couple of hours making my way up half of the beat length. Managed 5 wbt and one salmon parr. 3 to the klink and others on nymph below. Nice and open compared to my more local Arrow jungle warfare.

Another lovely couple of hours at the top of this beat - this time in the early morning of a mild and dry day. River still high and slightly coloured after rain the previous afternoon. Again fished with the mayfly nymph down and across and caught 3 small wild brownies - all returned in good condition.

Four bright little trout. One of those days where the better fish nibbled but didn't hook up.

Excellent morning's fishing. I lost a fish first cast and went on to catch four others who were all in good condition and fought hard

One 4” trout on mayfly nearly as big W fish.lots of rising fish through afternoon missed quite a few. Nice day but very windy river was nice flow and clear thanks wye and Islamic lovely beat

One brown trout caught and returned on the upper Monnow Valley beat. The fish was caught using a green coloured dry mayfly and was about 12-14" long, not weighed but was about 1lb. River condition was reasonably clear with a good amount of water but not too much.
