- Good directions, and gate open on arrival so easy to get in and out off the road - managed to drive round the two sides of the field in a non-4WD car but only because the field had been harvested; the track would have been far too rutted for a normal car if this was not the case even in the dry (probably doable with a 4WD and good clearance). Able to park right on the beat, and there was space to turn round at the end of the track.
- Easy access to the river itself to get into the spots - you can walk along the edge of the river on an often concrete path.
- Very low, clear water.
- No luck further upstream off the croys, but did better down on the pylon stretch above and at the mouth of the Lugg.
Mixture of trotting down and feeder, with most fish caught on float with meat.
- For two rods: 28 chub with a good number between 3lb and 5lb. 2 eels.
- Lovely days fishing with not too many canoes, and a nice chat with the guide. Would certainly return.

Fished llyn cwellyn for a few hours. Spectacular location. The llyn is gin clear and was full of pretty golden fish from 8 to 11 inches. Bank fishing is easy on the road side, with good wading. (You must use NP carpark which is £6 a day) After fishing Cwellyn we tried llynnau cwm silyn. Walk about 40 minutes up the track. These lakes are located under a towering crag, like something out of 'Lord of the Rings'. The upper llyn is hard to fish being shallow in parts and water is almost transparent. Some fish seen and lost here (appeared very small) the lower llyn was more productive, a number of fish 7 to 11 inches caught. This llyn is deeper in the margins and seemed less sterile with weed which held fish close to drop offs. Great day out.

River low and slow. Had to search for fish and found them near a far bank snag. Hard going but at least it was a nice sunny day

Dificult day. Bright sunshine, horrible upstream wind. I have to blame something for an abject performance.
Only fished bottom of beat, started off on the dry. Only saw 1 fish rise all day, and spent 30 minutes trying to catch it. Through every fly in the box at it but no joy.
After coffee and a pie switched to French leader on the 11' 3wt. Still no joy, but did briefly hook up with 2 fish, both felt like decent ones. Unfortunately they both bumped off.
Lovely beat, and will be back. Thank goodness for felt soles. Rocks on bottom of the beat would be treacherous without.
