Water was very low, the fish was caught in the Mud Pool beat, I was using a red and green spider on the dropper size 14,on the point a goose bigot nymph green and brown size 14. No movement of fish seen at all.

My first time on this site, and it was very nice I will try again on a nice frosty morning.

1 Grayling

1 Barbel at 5 1/2 lb off the pylon run mid morning. We fished the entire length of this usually productive section but only managed the 1.

Low river but some beautiful glides. Very little wind and dry but overcast. Fish up to a pound came to Czech and other weighted nymphs. This was the first of two days on the beat.....

With the river very low, the lowest I’ve fished it!! We weren’t expecting miracles. We managed a couple of good barbel and 3 chub all falling to meat in the witching hour. As always a joy to fish this lovely fishery.

I find this a tricky beat, but lovely day nonetheless. River was in good condition. A good sized fish on a nymph, and a smaller less wise fish on the dry.
