The river was dropping and claering a bit by the evening so I fished for a couple of hours. Notning on nymphs and a single missed take on a parachute adams. Lovely stretch of river.

Nice beat, very peaceful and has lots of potential. The foy bridge fishery had better access than the creel fishery half, however both were overgrown. Water was fairly coloured and above summer level, I fished the fly down all pools as far as access and wading would allow, sadly without result. Several canoeists passed through mid morning all of which were plesent and curtious. I finished fishing mid afternoon due to large amounts of foliage in the water and decreased water clarity from rain upstream.
I look forward to fishing this beat again, hopefully with more success.

A once in a blue moon day we all dream about. After my first visit early season I wanted to return here when the mayfly were coming off and more importantly when the brook had a bit more water and a bit of colour to it to relax the very spooky fish. This was the exact conditions I found the brook in when I began at the lower end of the beat. Fish chased mayflies up and down the stream where they fluttered around, some fish even leaping to take flies which were flying above the surface!
Despite this I kept on with the Duo, the method I began with and the takes were that thick and fast I saw no reason to change.
Still buzzing even a day later, red letter stream fishing.

Yes! I might have decided to wash the car instead, but common sense found me arriving at the Arrow around 1:30pm. I was hopeful that the trout might still be up for surface activity with a few straggling mayfly around. However, although the mayfly action was lacking, 9 beautiful Arrow brownies obliged to a rusty Klink carefully dropped into likely runs. 3 of the fish were clonkers, and all put up a spirited scrap!
The river banks are getting pretty overgrown now, so expect a few stings, stumbles and the odd unseen drop! A lovely 3 hrs.....and the car actually doesn’t look that bad!
