Very quiet day, maybe the recent rain had put the fish down. I rose 3 to a dry but no takes. Had some limited interest on nymphs but nothing stuck. No fish to the net today!

Had a lovely day on the Bideford Brook. The water was slightly coloured and there was plenty of fly life on the stream including mayflies and smaller up-wings. Caught 3 trout on dry flies, fish were between 6-8 inches and all were released. Spotted a few larger fish in the deeper pools but couldn't tempt them with my offerings.

River was high and coloured after plenty of rain the following day and night, but cleared up in the afternoon and produced two really well sized brownies on little grey dead duns.
