First time on the Doldolwd beat, some lovely Grayling water with a decent gravel bottom between the bedrock.
Lots of grayling ranging from half a pound up to over 2lb, and some decent out of season brown trout.
There was a large hatch of olives between 1-2 oClock, dries took a fair few fish in the slower water whilst long line nymphing other parts of the day. Looking forward to booking again!

River was still high after the floods of the previous week and running fast, but fairly clear. Landed a lovely 7+inch brown trout taken on a olive nymph. He had a large louse on his side which i removed before putting him back.

Difficult beat to wade but a pleasant day with plenty of sun .unwadable at the lower part of the beat . Above average water height. Had six fish between us on pheasant tail nymphs deep down above the bridge where we could both get in the water..

My first visit to this beat. There were more fishable swims than other reports led me to believe, but I failed to find any feeding fish after trying several of them. The weather was fantastic for the time of year, being warm and sunny with little or no wind. Water levels had dropped back almost to pre-spate level and the river was running quite clear. Evening was always going to be the best time, but it did’t happen for me on this occasion.

Not for me this one, will not be returning, 100m of bank for fly is not a suitable fishery for me and that part had a rod out every 10m drowning worms. Water very coloured as quite a lot of rain has fallen,
