Rained all morning and into the afternoon, so I delayed arrival until 3pm as the forecast was for drier weather late in the day.
Still raining on arrival, but only light so I made my way down to the end of the beat and began fishing upstream with a nymph. The water was still low and clear despite the downpour, but no takers.
Got back to the bridge in the middle of the beat with about an hour of daylight left and, as there had been some fly activity, switched to a dry fly and continued upstream. 3 trout caught before fading light brought the day to an end.
Lovely river and surroundings - mist over the hills looked very dramatic.
I must be the only angler not to catch a grayling from Lyepole, but I enjoyed my visit all the same.

The river was quite coloured but we fished it with great (misplaced) optimism anyway. It is a lovely stretch of water. Weather rather wet until mid afternoon.

River rising rapidly, up 0.3m between 07.00 and 11.00. Conditions very good and the work that Mick has been doing on the banks and access routes was excellent. Sadly no fish.

No fish seen all day. The river was quite coloured. Height was 1ft 5 inches on the Gromian marker. It rained most of the day. Light wind only. This is a wonderful beat. It was a huge pleasure to be able to have a day here, so big thanks to the Foundation for setting up the admin.

A rising river but very controlled fishing after finding a swim away from the main race of the river. 10 Barbel to 8.8 lb and 4 Chub to 5.1lb. Fabulous day well worth the 250 mile round trip.
Great directions and pack from WUF.

Did not fish due to forecast of heavy rain, didn't want to risk the slippery banks with my 75 year old dad. Thanks WUF and Don for a great fishery. No more days booked now for the rest of the season but might try and squeeze one in during October and again in March.
