1 small and 1 cracking 12"wbt on a GRHE-my best wild stream fish of the season.

Weather hot, fishing poor.

Slightly coloured 7lb hen taken on an Ally's Shrimp.

Tough day. This time I fished upstream from bridge and all fishing activity on was on first two bends.
Rest of beat up to weir a jungle - spent more time getting to water and unhooking from overhead branches than fishing.
I know everyone seems to succeed on this beat with nymphs - but stuck to dry fly. All fish taken on GSB. Would probably had more if I had flies smaller than 16 as missed a lot of slashy takes.
All fish 8" to 10" - I assume the larger fish are lurking in the deeper holes.

River quite low, weather very hot but it had bad thunderstorms the night before, caught lots of chublet's from the start, fished every field but ended up behind church and landed on the barbel biggest 8lb smallest 2lb, caught on meat and corn. Good stretch would have fished better if slightly cooler. Thanks WUF

14 Barbel, 20 Chub, 3 Other

Pellet, meat and legered bread.Barbel 2 x 9lbs, 1 x 3lbs
2 barbel before 8am, last one at 6pm.
Walked about half the length of this beat. Good fishable swims turning left after access steps at upper end but it would be great if more swims can be cut after turning right from bottom of steps.
As with previous WUF day tickets at Wyebank and Lower Canon Bridge, the additional info and map were very helpful.

3 Barbel, 2 Chub

Fished below the bridge and saw a fish move above the wires. Tried it with red/silver FC without response. Changed to yellow/copper and it took 2nd cast. 10lb safely returned on micro barbed single hook. Lunch on veranda of Chain Bridge pub excellent as usual.

Same problems gaining entry as the previous day. Many thanks to Wye @Usk for trying to resolve the entry problems and finally moving us to another fishery for our 3rd day.

River perfect, fished lower beat, fish to 1.5lb all on dry, no fish taken.
