Brief session. A hatch pulsed around midday and brought a few fish up, but it was short-lived.
Fish on a mixture of dries and duo.
Unseasonably warm with a niggly upstream breeze. Strange conditions for April!

Just a quick shimmy up the top section of the beat , she's in dire need of a good flush through to be honest...Warm and fifteen degrees when i bowled up at the bridge parking area ....
On arrival, some olives and sedge on the go, and also some large brook duns .....
Not much surface activity in fairness...A slow slow wade up a very low river ...The usual locations produced . One was to a riser, the others, caught prospecting in likely water !! Certainly a good five inches extra on height Is needed, just to put some zest back into the Ithon.....
Parts of the Wye at Builth yesterday in the slow stuff , were festooned with that bloody aweful bright green algae !!!!! Rain needed, lots of it too !!!
Fish were of the usual stamp here today, and cracker of perhaps ten inches, the other two seven and eight respectively.....
A fun session from two till four .... back home nd hose the garden afain I suppose !!! Happy days ......

I thought it would be difficult and it was. Sun all day and low water had one take during a short rise and missed it.

Low water, a bit of rain needed.
Challenging fishing, for me at least. Fish seen in the deeper pools, but nothing rising until early afternoon. 1 trout about 7 inches long on the dry fly. Nothing touched nymphs on this occasion.
Only 1 fish caught but many trees.
Beware the slippery stones on the river bed, studs would help if wading. Be careful too when entering the beat from the bank, barbed wire has to be crossed, low down but it could hole waders if you're not careful.
