River is running low and fishing is difficult. But despite the conditions, a few fish were catched. Fly of the day was a small dark klinkhammer size 16.

River at least a foot lower than my last visit. Session started well, with most fish caught before 1pm. Two Chub of. 5lb on cheese paste everything else on meat.
Bites dried up as the sun came out and only one chub during the afternoon.
Left around 5 when the fishing may have improved

Overcast and cooler than recently (although it warmed up in the afternoon), grainy tinge of colour to the water, 19 degree water temp, and reasonable flow despite the 0.16 RoW level reading. Started down the bottom trying to catch a barbel in the first hour, one of us using pellet on the float, the other boillie and bag across to the trees. Only one chub each. Swapped to meat over pellet or hemp on the float and we both had 100lb or so in 4 hours. Moved further up to try for a barbel where there were less chub but with a few more chub but no barbel. Vast majority of the chub in the 3 to 4lb bracket and great to catch on the float.

a lovely stretch and plenty to choose from. Chub predominant, on meat and pellet. Sat it out with 2 14mm pellets on the hair, which had the effect of slowing down the chub, but alas no barbel.....at least not in the swims or not feeding.

30 Chub
