River level dropping. Lost a lot of fish in the rocks and also a lot of feeders. Enjoyable, peaceful fishing on a lovely beat. Car was safe all day. Lots of canoes coming down and nearly all moved over to the far bank when they saw us. A most enjoyable day but possibly disappointing number of barbel. No one else fishing on far bank which was a bonus.

Fished the Taff Fachan down from Pontsarn bridge to the town; a beautiful little stream that cuts through a deep rocky gorge in the woods. There was still the odd mayfly hatching but the little fish that I did see, seemed to be feeding on midges and a late hatch of iron blue duns. I caught a couple of tiddlers, then spotted the only bigger fish I saw all day and managed to tempt it first cast. It was only about half a pound but it made my day. All fish caught on a size 16 F fly.

River dropping but not in the best of shape. Partly over the cribs and fast. Caught the odd fish by moving around. Weather was kind with just the odd shower. Pellet and feeder was the successful method as usual.
