Just a few small common carp caught today. Weighing around the 6lb mark. Dreadful weaher: thunderstorms and lightning. But all in all a good day

A male 34 inch fish, making it 15lb. Caught on a single hook FC.

Arrived in drizzle to a river high and with the colour of 5 day old stewed tea. No hatch to speak of but managed to tempt 20 WBT on a small green may and Umberto Oreglini's March Brown dry variant. (check it out on YouTube).

An 8lb salmon on fly from the Nyth at 7.30pm. Previous fish reported was 10lbs.

A last minute booking and arrived at noon to a rising dirty river. First visit to this beat and pleasantly surprise with the variety of water. Not good for the fly today but gave it a go anyway, [time spent in reconnaissance is seldom wasted], and enjoyed groping my way down the section below the footbridge but didn't push my luck in the last pool, wading stick or not! Nothing on spinners either but I think I’ll try again another day when conditions are more favourable.

River running very fast and deep. Not good conditions after a lot of unexpected heavy rain. Not ideal access to this beat as parking in the village can be tricky.

Nine+ to hand in the short time I was there. All small, up to 9 inches. First time on this beat and it is a struggle to fish due to the amount of fallen trees and vegetation. To look at nice... to fish very frustrating.

First day fishing wild streams and had invaluable help from guide Oliver Burch - put me on to all the right spots. Unfortunately I ruined many with poor casting. Excellent hatches of olives and later mayfly and fish taking from surface. Longdistance release of several. Around 4 beautiful wbt to hand. Beautiful beat.
