Lovely morning at Arrow Mill, river up and coloured, one fish lost and a good take. Moved onto Eardisland - two takes on small dry fly but reactions from this angler too slow! First time fishing Eardisland, lovely spot with relatively easy wading, will be back soon.

A beautiful day to be on the river. Little wind and sporadic rises all day and some consistently feeding fish to target. 6 trout to 14 inches to a variety of methods with the largest to a parachute Adams. Would have been interesting to fish into the early evening but bushed by 4pm having started at 10.

Fishing partner (Russell Hill) hit a fresh moving fish at 10:45am on a surface fished black & yellow tube that sadly threw the hook in the tail out of Lady Alexandra.
Shortly after I managed a slightly coloured resident cock fish around 7-8lbs on a orange Ally's shrimp pattern fished on a short leader & a sink 3 MOW tip. Hooked/landed/safely returned in the head of Lady Alexandra.
Water still dropping and clearing but what a fly fishing beat this is! Love it.. No more fish seen for the rest of the day sadly but plenty of healthy Trout.

A beautiful day but very little action. Two fish rose and one small one stayed on. Should have been perfect but possibly too bright.

A great day fishing with fine weather, mostly sunny and 15-16 degrees. Plenty of fly life although fish were being selective and so had to keep changing fly. March Brown worked around 11am in fast water and hooked and lost a good fish. Later changed to Iron Blue Dun and had several fish in the shallow water. Fish moved to deeper water in afternoon when the temperature rose, and were periodically supping small flies - a lot of head and tailing. Small black gnats worked and caught a few fish. Lost 2 very good fish 2lb+.

Beautiful venue but very small head of fish, lost 2 good sized trout on small gold head squirrel tail. On talking to a local angler who doesn't bother to fish there any more due to low fish stocks, (his words not mine) it makes searching for the odd fish frustrating. Never the less I will be back!!

14 x 4-12 inch fish plus a good few salmon parr. Mostly on CDC dries and the odd nymph from faster water, fish rising in every pool, great afternoon fishing.

Good days fishing. Had a big take from a large salmon who turned from 40 yards and came straight at me. I was wading at waist high in the stones and he came within 3 feet, passed me like a rocket and jumped out of the water onto the gravel behind me, threw the Devon Minow and jumped again back into the water. I saw him on the gravel - he looked well into the 20lbs plus. I stood there shock as it all happened so quick. I had kept a tight line as when he threw the lure it came back and hit me in the shoulder. What an experience.
