A few lovely trout on a dry sparkle caddis pattern. This is not the most accessible beat under normal circumstances, but now with head high Bankside vegetation it was very hard work cutting a path through, which I had to do on four occasions just to access the river.

Bright sunshine and a low river made fishing tough, fished single 8mm pellet 8lb hook link, the only bite of the day resulted in a Barbel of about 5lb which was very welcome.

After 2 great days fishing at Middle Hill Court, today was a real disappointment. If anything, conditions were better but 3 of us struggled to get 4 chub. I booked this venue for our party on the basis of the YouTube video on UHC access and I have to say that I think that it is misleading. The number of fishable swims is very limited unless you come equipped with major undergrowth clearing tools. It means that there is no opportunity to move if your swim isn’t producing if there are more than a couple of people in the beat. The video is a great idea and gives good directions but is not accurate in terms of accessible pegs. I wouldn’t book it again unless I was coming on my own and no one else was booked on to it

Far from ideal conditions ,river low , clear ,bright sun and hot !
Managed a couple of decent Chub ,lost a Barbel at the net ,also a first ,2 really good size eels ,first i have caughr from the Wye in over 50yrs on this river .
Looking over the footbridge lots and lots of some really hefty Chub .
Obvious thing to say ,but the river could do with some decent rainfall .
Still great to be back though !

A welcome change in temp. and good cloud cover for starters, thought we might be in for a bumper day however, for some reason known only to the fishing gods it was not to be. sport was patchy, a couple of fish then nothing for an hour or so, that was the pattern all day. All fish taken in the woods section to meat or bread, majority on meat, could not get a touch anywhere else but to be honest very limited options below the woods. Thought we might have a "Magic" hour or so to finish the day but apart from a hectic half hour for one rod it went completely dead by 9pm. Called it a day 9:45 and made the "Gentle stroll" back to the car. All in all given the conditions felt as if we had under achieved somewhat

My first trip up the Wye this season. Despite reading zero on the Ross gauge the river looked nice with the better streamier swims still having sufficient water. We fished 7 swims between us and 6 of them only produced 1 5lb Barbel and a solitary chub - swims that normally produce gave up not a bite. The other produced the other 8 Barbel, biggest 8lb, half when it was a bit overcast in the morning and half in big suns in the afternoon. Bomb and pellet was the method. Can't understand the absence of chub.
Thanks to the wonderful Stefan for lending us a landing net as someone other than me for a change left his in the garage. Keep up the great work mate.

A very bright and sunny day making for quite difficult conditions but managed to catch 2 in the mid afternoon sun fishing just off the bottom. It’s been a long time since we fished here but really enjoyed the day.
