Fished only dries. Full sun and blue skies meant warmth and good hatches throghout day and especially eveinng. Some large ones caught.

spent a couple of hours at the reservoir before heading back to Kent. water was alot higher than my last visit. fished just down form the dam wall but didnt get any takes. then rained off at midday.

Sunnier and harder than yesterday. Fish spookier, but still caught some on small dries.

Fished above the farm. Hard going in bright sunshine, but caught some on small dries. A few about 12".

First attempt at a wild stream... Did not go well!

Nearly but not quite. Plenty of fly early in the day, and a few rising fish. It was one of those days where fish didn't stay attached, bumped off several and one was a good fish. There was a good mix of fly, olives and stoneflies, but the trout were occasional risers. Still a nice beat with plenty of fishable water.

WOW what a beat, absolutely amazing with such a variety of water. A lot of insect life pretty much right throughout the day but only saw a handful of rises.
Didn’t manage to get to the top end of the beat as there is private property and didn’t see a public footpath.
Didn’t manage to land anything but a small trout went for an Elk Hair Caddis but he didn’t stay on long enough, I’m sure someone more experienced than me would have landed him.

Access to the river is relatively easy but Wading was tricky as it is pretty rocky but this is explained by the synopsis on the passports webpage but I will add it is VERY slippery. I have felt soles and almost lost my footing more than once so I would urge people to be cautious if they go.
There is also a nice looking cafe at the start of the beat should you fancy a spot of lunch. I didn’t try it myself but will probably do so next time
