Very good beat, beautiful day. All caught on dry fly - little mayfly. Water clear & low.

Did not fish for very long, had two very nice trout in upstream nymphing.

The fishing started off slow but really kicked in the early evening. There was quite a lot of water in the river and a bit of colour. Caught 4 trout and lost several other fish, two of which we're large specimens. Took 2 fish.

4 Trout

Plenty of fly on water today with enough mayfly about to keep fish rising the few hours I was there. Water levels up still and slightly murkey. Between 20 and 30 to hand and lost several others. One of which was nudging two pound by the size of his head when he lifted to sip in my fly. Smallest today bout 8 inches, largest two around 15 inches, the rest all around 12 inches.

25 Trout

Robin Woods caught a 17lb coloured hen on spinner in the Ox hall, Newbridge on 24th May. Also caught a very silver and lively 9 lb cock fish on spin, 29th May Aber pool Llysdinam. Steven Grimwood caught a 15lb fish on the 29th and a very fresh 7lb on fly in the Aber pool, Llysdinam on the 31st May. Just for interest 2 salmon were lost after lengthy fights by 10 year old Ben woods on spinner tonight. He also lost a huge brown trout on a Toby estimated around 5lbs!

No salmon seen, although water looked promising. Abernant Catch fishes well with the fly but only one trout to show for my efforts.

Whether took an turn for the worse as I drove north, arriving to find it overcast and on the chilly side with occasional downstream gusts
Plenty of flies coming of the water but no fish taking them. Spidered my way up to the charmingly named Sewage Pool. Got three fish all around 10 inch. Around midday saw 2 fish rising just below the Cynrig on the left bank. Landed both on an Olive Kline, both fish around 8 inches.
Fished the bottom half the beat without success in the afternoon. No fish rising apart from the 2 above. All fish returned.
Might have been a productive evening as wind had dropped and now much warmer but I had to leave at 5pm.

5 Trout

Strong coloured flow with no real prospect or result. Handful of Mays showing. Needs a few days yet to settle.
