River low and clear. Really needs some rain, however had a really good day. Worth wading out and trotting a float through the deeper water although these swims take a bit of finding. Barbel not really showing during the day. Had so many dace and chub I lost count. All barbel fell to pellet. Evening definitely the best.

Very nice stretch of water, only problem lack of pegs(partly due to very low water level) but we all managed to find a swim. Fishing was tough but managed 5 barbel to 9lbs 14oz and 5 chub, 3-4lbs. Most fish came to pellet and feeder. Very long walk and mountain track to venue.

River very low and clear, hard going in the bright sunshine but my fishing buddy managed a barbel around 7lbs and two chub around the 3lb mark. Myself, I did not have a bite, would fish it again with a bit more water and colour on.

A grand day out in the sun. Nothing was moving to small dries/paras, so switched to klink and dink. 4 trout to a tiny flashback ptn, and 1 (the smallest) to the klink. 4 were 7" to 10",and one at 12/13" was my best from the Clettwr. All in great condition.

Clear, low water made fishing challenging. Our sole purpose was to get my brother a barbel as he was over from Dubai. Mission accomplished as he caught 2, one 9oz and one 12oz! He therefore will be back to catch a grown up barbel. I did however catch a 5lb juvenile. We also had 4 Chub to 5lb 4oz. Great day on lovely beat full of wildlife, will be back.

The river is still very low, but otherwise not too bad for grayling fishing, weather a little cooler than lately with a mixture of clouds and sunshine. The grayling were "picky" though, and only at times would take a dry fly properly and confidently. I could swear they come on to take when the sun comes out. As often at this time of year, quite a variety of insects on the surface but no particular or sustained hatch going on. We fished through the day with a mixture of methods, RE mostly with a French leader and nymphs, O B mostly with dry flies (Red Tag, Grayling Steel Blue, John Storey etc) and spiders, and after it all we ended up with exactly 14 grayling each. Nothing bigger than 15 inches, but they were mostly good ones, plus a collection of mostly small trout which liked the spiders and a 4 pound chub for RE, which took a nymph trundling down a gravel run. A super day, topped off with beer and a grill at the Wheelwright's Arms in Erwood.

Lovely stretch of river, real stalkers paradise, if you are any good at it. There were several large fish seen but I get the feeling they saw me long before I saw them. I got two small trout on a small nymph under a klinkhamer but nothing else. I did make a mistake and took a 7'6" rod. I think given the water clarity, how spooky the fish are, the need for long casts using a long leader a 9' rod or even longer would be much more useful.

12 barbel and 2 chub all taken on 8 mil pellet with 4 mil pellet in feeder. 10 barbel between 5 pounds and 7lb 15oz
with 2 small fish of 1lb and 1lb 8ozs which must be a good sign for future stocks.
