Height 1' water falling and clear, overcast. Between us we covered every bit of the beat. Other than the odd trout rising nothing seen. Fly avidly taken by 2 perfect, fat trout of around 3/4lb in the Mill pool.

Encouraging that there are so many 4/5/6" trout and grayling in all the streams, greedy though so I ended up fishing with much larger flies than I wanted to deter them. Caught two trout at 10", the rest were the little ones including some great looking grayling.

Perfect, warm overcast day on this lovely beat with a bit of colour & height & fish showing. Sadly no takers but hey! Have to say was shocked by volume of canoeist activity particularly one group who decided to jump out of their flotilla for a group swim in the middle of the beat! Bless Them.

On a pleasant day it was disappointing to find the river low but slightly coloured, and devoid of fly life. Access was a huge problem, with thick vegetation on both banks, over grown trees and cattle gates across the river. My 7 foot rod was probably too long. I managed to rise two fish, miss one and prick the other. I saw two rises in 5 hours, not good even for August. I don't mind not catching anything, but feel frustrated at only fishing for an hour or so due to access problems. Not recommended.

Very short morning session on a river in perfect condition. Canoe traffic heavy but snagged a barbel of exactly 10lb from between them.
