Cracking river. Well worth the trip. 8lb barbel on heavy feeders and meat paste and a pb 20lb 11oz pike on meat paste believe it or not. Very shocked when it surfaced with the line in its scissors. Very good day. Amazing river. Will be back after summer lows.

Quite a cold, foggy morning. The fog lifted during the afternoon and gave way to glorious sunshine. Caught the first rainbow of 3 lbs very early and the second half an hour later - 2.5 lbs. Caught the third fish of around 1.5 lbs in the early afternoon. All the fish took a spinner. No luck at all on the worm. On the ticket side all the anglers seemed to be catching loads of fish.

Fantastic conditions on the river Wye today with 1'6" on the gauge - albeit it crystal clear waters... Fished the beat from top to bottom twice (fly & spinner) having heard of fish showing here yesterday but to no avail not even a sighting of a fish. Some great pools on this beat I would love to hit it with a bit of colour in the water!

17lbs springer cock fish. I had it on a full floating line and it took an 8mm brass tube at 11.45am today. The water height was 0.91 and running clear.

Apart from the map showing the parking position incorrectly and an electric fence across the alternative, a nice day.
A dull cloudy day with the river a few feet up with a tinge of colour and extra velocity. Started at midday and used small pellets. The Barbel came at regular intervals. Catching five to 8lb 4oz and losing a sixth.

River had gone down it was running clear but fast. Very cold and foggy. Like to fish it again in the summer. Very pleased with our catches. All went home happy.

Sadly no fish seen or caught despite trying dry and wet flies and nymphs. The river was running pretty clear but surprisingly shallow given recent rains although this day followed a week of mainly dry weather. There are some deeper pools. The beat is difficult to negotiate in places, particularly near the start, due to obstructions placed across the river presumably by local landowners and quite a bit of scrambling is required in places. Casting is restricted throughout and will be more difficult as vegetation increases. Only very light tackle required. Scenery was pleasant though.
