3 chub & 2 barbel, hard going most fish taken on rolling meat at the end of the section off the croy.

2 Barbel, 3 Chub

Lovely stretch of the Wye (isnt all of it though!) and the fishing is not bad either. Started on the usual feeder tactics to locate and fish and found a few so set up the trotting rod and caught some by trotting down the long run.
There is a huge amount of canoe traffic here as there is a pub/picnic stop just where you park up so the flotilla of boats after lunch can be quite annoying. Having said that all of the canoes were respectful of me fishing (the ones that could steer anyway) and it didn't really effect the fishing.
All in all a great day.

6 Barbel, 6 Chub

A lovely stretch of river, caught eight fish 7-9" on klink's and elk hair caddis. After an early start and three hours fishing that flew by, I was pretty well done and did not fish the LLanthony beat. The smell of cooking bacon at Treats sandwich van was too much to resist.

1 x 15 inch WBT caught on PTN - all very quiet except for a leaping salmon.

Fished a spinner from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Not much rising naturally but they loved my cherry spinner. Almost every cast produced a take but I couldn't get most to stay on!

River in great nick. Water clear but not as low as I've seen it previously. Few rises and even the trusty Klink failed to entice much. Small dark tungsten nymph in deeper water produced most fish including a cracking plump 12" fish that was swimming next to a trout almost twice the size!

No fish caught but still an enjoyable day.

Fished fly only, various shrimp patterns and small tubes, but to no effect. Saw three fish during the day, one in Cadora (not reachable) one in the tail of Little Run, and one just above Cockpit. A beautiful setting for a day's fishing.

Started fishing at 8:30am, finished at 6:00pm. Hot, sunny day, water low, clear and not very fast flowing.
Fished glued pellets all day, first fish within few minutes (barbel with a distinctive kink in its body, caught the same fish twice in same swim.). Also caught one eyed barbel which we caught 2 years ago in this same swim! Largest fish 10lbs, caught 4 other fish in the day so it ended as a great day of fishing. Has anyone caught either of the 2 distinctive fish. 1 eyed or kinked bodied fish?
