Really nice beat to fish, not far to walk from the car but the steep wooded hill you have to walk up to get back to your car can be tricky in the evening. Had some lovely barbel out from the croy at the very end of the beat, we were using pellets and roaming around a fair bit, trying out all the swims, some were easier then others to fish but still had a lovely day, good weather. The river was quite low.

Gorgeous river and scenery, could do with some cutting back in places. 0 fish caught but was more my fault than the river or fish. Day was cut short due to other commitments, so missed evening fishing, will book again.

Beat:Arrow Mill

Fishing:Trout (River)

After a 20 year absence I restart my learnings on a beautiful stretch of the Arrow and a rank amateur I now remember I was. The river was somewhat cloudy with a few trout rising to a modest mayfly hatch. I tried Grey Wulffs and Adams all to no avail.
A relaxing and de-stressing couple of hours in picturesque Herefordshire: Lovely - now where's the pub...

Couple of lunchtime hours to wallow away on the upper Monnow. 3 fish to hand and 3 more missed. Plenty of fly life, not a lot of water so concentrated on the bigger pools. When a fish rose I did connect but weren't many at that time if day. Small may fly hatch did happen in a couple of the middle pools for about 15 minutes though. Really pleasant day.

One small fresh run grilse early afternoon on Devon blue and silver from Wyebank pool behind the crib. Fish seen there Monday as well as along bottom end Legg Meadow. I suspect a small run came up on the 4" lift of water we had late Sunday which dropped back Monday.
