Cloudless sky and strong easterly breeze. Managed to catch two. Even the many wormers there were struggling.

A good evening with fish rising to may flies. Caught 1 chub. I also rose and lost other fish.

Walkways as described in beat details are in a bad state.
I switched to trout fishing, caught one (returned).

Caught 1 (8"), Lost 1, Raised 2. Lovely stretch of water. Fished 12.30pm to 5.00pm with sparse hatches, with the exception of Gnats.

Fished this beat quickly as we'd taken our time on the beat below. 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Loverly stretch of water. Caught 1 ( 12" - 1lb?) great fish. Raised 3 more.

3 trout between 10 & 12" in fine fettle. A quiet spell before the spinner fall. 1hr on stream, may dry dabbled in the rips.

7 trout caught on iron blue dun, largest fish approx 16 inches, all fish were returned.

Bright sunny day with cold easterly wind. Managed to squeeze 4 out, ledger method with worm.

Fished from 11.30am to 2pm, several hatches taking place including Mayfly and empty husks floating downstream.
Not many trout showing but small trout feeding under the footbridge. Lovely bright day though morning temperature only 14C.

Lovely afternoon, fished from 3pm to 5.30pm, saw about 6 fish rising, fished for all of them with a dry. Caught one very nice WBT of 9 inches on a Grey Wulfe and raised 4 others.
Very enjoyable would like to have stayed longer. Nice pint of Butty Bach in the Crown at Longtown.
Just one gripe - the footpath through the farm just upstream of the bridge at the start of the beat as marked on the beat map is unpassable, blocked up stile and vociferous dog.
