10am to 1.30pm was a constant stream of canoes, what did I expect? However, this beat has a good length of fly water and if conditions were favourable I'm sure there would be a fish or two to be found. But not today.
One WBT of 1lb and a small pike tested my new outfit and I got to chat with one or two very nice people. I will be trying again if we get a bit more water!

Morning rise to olive upright or ascending nymphs thereof with the odd March Brown or large Brook Dun about too. I chucked all I had at them, but no real interest. One short rise to an Imperial. Lovely day in the country!

Sorry for this delayed return: River very clear. Sunny conditions. The one trout that I did catch was about 3" long – it went straight back. I caught this on a fly grey – small – silver wide hook. This was caught near the bridge in the shade – early evening. I saw very little sign of any other fish. I sense that the trout are very sensitive – perhaps my movement scared them off. It is a lovely spot to fish. I wondered though whether the stream can actually sustain fisherman. Thanks for letting me fish though.

Once again a superb beat, but as always one of the most challenging. 4 fish (all returned), the best at the top where the river levels off. All on an Adams. A few more came to the fly, but failed to contact.

Nice place. I will be back. Something weird to be honest because there were a lot of flies but no fish rising, only a couple of rise and that´s all at the end of the day.
