Fished one of the last swims in the meadow. Arrived late and didnt start until 9.30am. Water was up around 2m but dropped steady during the day. Fished very close-in due to flow. finished-up with 6 Barbel to 9.5lb. None of the fish smaller than 8lbs. All fought like demonds in the fast water, great day and will return when levels drop a bit.

River up 6ft above Summer levels. I fished the slower water off a crease created by a big bush/tree near the end of the meadow towards the orchard. Had 4 barbel on Robin Red Pellets, biggest 9.5lbs. There will soon be a lot of Specimen Barbel coming from beats like Sugwas and the ability to upload photos of your Trophy catches maybe a feature some Anglers would like, possibly.

WUF note - Please feel free to email us any of your catches admin@wyeuskfoundation.org and we will upload them onto our Twitter account.

Arrived 10.30am after long drive down and then walked the length. As I was the 4th rod to arrive I had to settle into a swim near the top of Legg Meadow which offered a little calmer water. River very high and chocolate brown but at least falling. Still had to fish close to the bank. After a few bait droppers the first put in of the day produced a fish of 9lbs 7ozs, my 4th produced a better fish of 9lbs 10ozs. What a day I am in for I thought but even though I stayed to dusk I could only add 2 more fish of 8lbs 12ozs and 9lbs 11ozs. I thought all 4 were doubles and in the water levels took some landing. Meat, pellet x 2 and Richard T bollie accounted for the fish. What an average size, if not the quantity, this stretch seems capable of. Thank you CM for landing the 1st 2 and taking some great pics.

Overcast and windy, 10 trout taken on Zulu's and Black Pennells. Biggest around 10". Beautiful location and scenery, 4x4 vehicle required to get all the way to the edge.

Managed 3 trout between us, all on nymphs and all safely returned. Water high and a strong flow, but we struck lucky with the weather throughout the day - only one major downpour around midday.

River was 4ft up, chocolate brown and chugging through, though it had apparently dropped 4ft overnight! The three of us fished a large crease at the very bottom of the beat, mainly due to a lot of the beat being unfishable.
We ended the day with 17 barbel between 5lb and 9lb 8oz, all coming to feeder fished halibut pellet. We also had a 4lb chub and two eels to 3lb.

We arrived to find a swollen, rising river and it rose a further 3 foot during our session. We were forced further back up the bank on 3 occasions. All manner of debris was piling through the river with relentless regularity - bottles, branches, whole trees and even a TV set were seen!
Fishing was difficult and it was a case of settling on a couple of pegs with a slacker area on the inside at the bottom of the beat by the cottage. 1 rod blanked but the other connected with 3 Barbel, one of which slipped the hook. The other 2 were banked and went 5lb 2oz and 6lb 7oz.
We would like to return in better conditions. The hill is a killer though. Having assessed it on foot first of all, we knew we had the vehicle to cope with it and we were able to park close to the river. Travel very light if you need to walk though.
