We liked the beat; first time on it. The fishing was hard going, conditions very difficult and few fish caught.

Wow, in such low water a coloured hen salmon took my size 10 Allies double, like a train at 8.15pm in the Cafn. It raced around and jumped etc and I landed it 100 meters upstream. 13lbs. It swam away immediately released.
That was as good as it gets given the very tough conditions.

Poor conditions with low water and bright sun but a very enjoyable afternoon on this beautiful beat. Some excellent fly water in the centre with several good pools and easy wading.

3 small trout taken on Hairs Ear nymph and several lost, river was clear and in good condition and quite a large number of fish moving. 1 brown of about 2lb seen in the last pool before the bridge. It was my first time fishing a small river and I thoroughly enjoyed myself with the bonus of catching some fish, albeit small ones.

This was the second beat I fished today, lovely place, lots of insect life, no rises seen however I did only spend 2 hours on this stretch. As the description says you can spend all day here, I managed to tempt a brown of around 10" out of a deep pool but managed to also loose it.

Very unsettled day weather wise. Fished from noon until 8pm without seeing any feeding fish. Fished a combination of dry flies and nymphs but to no avail. Quite a few smaller white fish showing (peal?) throughout the beat and a few salmon showing. Beautiful scenery but very difficult wading. A real pity that I had to leave early as there were lots of sedge about and I am sure there would have been a decent evening rise.

Excellent days fishing for myself on a very nice beat, 11 Barbel & 2 Chub all caught on boilies, angler 2 had 2 Barbel & 1 Chub and angler 3 only 1 Chub. These were caught on pellet, river had risen slightly during the night and there was a lot of weed coming down the river which made conditions very hard.

First time on this beat and really liked it. Would certainly return, hopefully when conditions are more favourable. All the fish were caught from the swims down stream of the rocks. The largest barbel, a stunning fish weighing 9lb 10oz. The barbel are long, lean and stong!
