x1 3lbs Grayling, a 6-8oz Grayling and x1 1.5lbs brown Trout. Caught using beaded gold head nymphs.

A cracking day. 7 or 8 trout to 10", 10 or so grayling to 17" and loads of parr. Fished mainly dry or duo and all but one trout came to the dry - most successful pattern being a large LT Klink.

Lower, clearer water & sunshine made fishing trickier than the previous week. 2 small trout to emerger pattern in the evening. Rose larger fish twice but failed to connect.

No fish caught, and no sign of any fish of a catchable size in the river.
Five vouchers! I will not be returning to this beat.

1'8"(steady after 4" rise overnight) Nil caught, two seen, one about 4/5lb slightly coloured, by the 'mess of rocks' at top of rock pool. Water clear with blazing sunshine all day. First time on beat, took awhile to follow instructions given to find all the parking (grass verges and some wasteland behind some garages) and pools ( bit of an expedition to find lower pools Run and Upper Glangwye). Beat truly offers a bit of everything.

All were caught using worms.

10lb salmon at 7.30am from the Cafn.

A 9lb salmon caught in Never Say Die at 6pm. An amazing fight in fast water.

1 x 8 inch Grayling on home made black dry fly and 1 x 6 inch brown trout on Grey Wulf. Access to water still difficult due to bankside vegetation and fallen trees in river. Fishable area getting smaller each time we visit,a great pity as this was always a favourite location.

4xBT caught with small goldhead nymphs near the beat start. Large grayling also caught mid-way down the beat. Fished from 10am - 1pm, conditions excellent.
