A very difficult downstream wind blowing for most of the morning. Although a superb days fishing had. A slow start - but by 11.30am trout moving to some hatching Mayfly etc. One rod caught 32 Trout and out of season Grayling (nearly all trout maybe 7 Grayling) and the other had 8 Trout. Some good size trout caught up to 18".

Saw one very large Trout move agressively to take something in the margins under the trees, with a very impressive bow wave left. Also nearly trod on a very large Grayling on the gravel runs that moved away at a fair speed. Excellent day enjoyed even if a little windswept!

A lovely, wild stretch of river, although access/exit nearly impossible at times! 6 fish caught to about 8" but several more lost including one of about 10" on Klinkhammer and ptn. An enjoyable if tiring day.

River very low and silty. Needs a good flush through. First time on this river and it was lovely! The lower half of this beat flows over bedrock and in the low flows fish were very spooky with nothing hatching in the morning. Furher up it flows over gravel and it was easier to ambush fish. Midday saw the first of the mayflies and olive hatch which brought the fish up. Going back to the bedrock section and working back up brought a succession of fish to 11 inches. Upstream wind helped. Caught on olive paraduns and parachute adams. Ended up at 5pm with about 25 lovely fish. Rain please!

Nil return. Tricky downstream wind didn't help. Varied hatches during the day but only the odd fish rising. Handfull of takes off the top but could not connect with any. Nevertheless an enjoyable day in pleasant surroundings.
Easy and convenient parking close to the river.

First time for me fishing on a river, up until now I have fished still waters. Took my son and had a good day, weather was overcast but very windy which was challenging however we did manage to catch 2 brown trout one on a gold headed nymph the other on a Mayfly. There was a good mayfly hatch throughout our time there and we had plenty of takes.
