What a stunning part of the river! Unfortunately the water was low which made fishing very difficult and no fish were landed. We did hook into one briefly but the hook pulled. Saw some good fish (2lbs+) in the upper section and plenty of smaller browns. To sum up it is a beautiful section, and the scenery more than made up for the lack of fish.

A lovely dry day with a few short lived showers that passed quickly. As with everyone else this time of year water was low and clear with a good bit of weed growing now, as to be expected. Pretty much "canoed" out of it from 10 - 2 but then it settled down. Not a touch for me though. Saw 4 or 5 resident fish jumping around in the top end but your not getting those on a fly. Ran into a couple of coarse anglers who were true gentlemen. After a serious chinwag and a bacon sandwich courtesy of the boys I resumed in the evening but with no luck. Could see where some choice runs will be though when the conditions will be kinder. Thanks WUF and J and R "coarse" chaps for the good time.

Fished from Saturday through to Monday, as others have said the river was low & clear and the heavy canoe traffic pretty much put a stop to daytime fishing, so spent the day chatting and making bacon sarnies for our new American friend who was Salmon fishing. Caught 2 Barbel on Saturday... 5lb (netted by the USA!) & 7lb from the Vanstone pool, 3lb chub Sunday evening and a broad shouldered 9 pounder Barbel from the rope pool Monday morning (thanks for the tip Adam!)

Another great day on the Wye. 14 barbel to 9-14 along with a few bonus chub. All fell to pellet/feeder approach with the majority of the fish coming between 5pm and dusk.
Dont be put off by the canoes, we had bites whilst there were canoes going through the swim, although the 6 muppets in the two inflatable paddling pools raised an eyebrow!!

A very difficult day. 1 wbt 6" on ptn. River Arrow more like a tench pond - in serious need of some water. Struggled to find anything with any depth and flow.

Fished the section above the bridge in reasonable weather conditions from 9.30 until about 3 p.m. when it got very windy. Some pale wateries around and, with some fish rising above the bridge, I had some trout and grayling on a hare's ear emerger and on a couple of PW emergers. Then fished up to the top of the beat with the HE emerger, part of the time NZ-style with a PW nymph on the point. Had more, mainly non-rising, fish on the emerger and a couple on the nymph - even had two grayling on at the same time and dropped both! Ended up with 13 grayling, all 8-10", and six trout, the best a lean 12", and the others about 8". After a stroll to the downstream section and wetting a line in a few places, but to no effect, the attraction of the last few hours of the 4th Test Match seemed like the better option!
