1 rainbow trout and 2 perch caught using float and worm. Rainbow trout taken, perch returned.
Usk Reservoir is situated in a spectacular setting. However, it's a shame the Reservoir isn't managed better by welsh water and the rules outlined for fishing here enforced. Stretches of bank are fly only, and others out of bounds for a nature reserve, but ist a literal free for all.
Evidence of wild camping is visible everywhere and also the copious amounts of human feces and toilet paper.
Large amount of camper vans were present when we left in the evening, most of which enjoyed poaching.

Hot bright conditions with no fish rising. Fished a euronymph rig with no results for an hour then switched to a small dry caddis when some started to flutter off the water and finally persuaded a few small fish to have a go. Missed five, landed one 9" fish in the remaining hour fishing. Lovely river. Would come back again at a better time to try for sewin.
