River at a nice height and running clear on a decent day weather wise. I fished most of the beat with a euro nymph set up but failed to connect with a fish of any description. I covered some really good looking water and so I was disappointed not to have a hook up, but an absorbing day on the water all the same.

A lovely stretch of river but yet again neither of us had a touch, we used meat and pellets, nothing, i think I'll wait for the summer now.

Perfect conditions, mild, sunny, river looked glorious. Sadly no fish. For information, the upstream track leading to the parking area is blocked by a pile of rubbish. Not sure if it's traveller deterrent or fly tipping. Anyway you can't drive down it.
Fishing Passport Note : 15th Feb 2023. The blockage has since been cleared.

David couldn't make it today. 6 x grayling 11-16 inches, trotting. A hard morning's fishing with a North Wind making it feel colder than it actually was. Grayling didn't seem to be shoaled up, possibly because a flotilla of goosanders had been all over the pools.

The river was pretty low (1.5m on) and very clear today and with bright sunshine all day not ideal conditions. I blanked. I tried groundbait feeder and pellet, also had a go on the maggot feeder to try to winkle out a chub. Only found three swims that could be fished. This stretch is very overgrown and with virtually no access to the river. However for a tenner in winter it’s not the end of the world. Not sure I will rush back though. Middle Hill Court next door is a better beat.

I thought the fish might have woken up following the freezing nights and been hungry after their flood exertions. However, alas and alack, it was not to be the case. Fished different methods in different swims with just 2 tiny taps to show for it.
