River down to gutter level. Small trout on dry in pool tail & one missed take on nymph. Otherwise very quiet with grayling in hiding, but a pleasant way to while away a sunny September afternoon.

Trout was from the left hand bank, almost opposite the owner's fishing hut, on a small heavy nymph. The small grayling were from the mouth of Clettwr Brook on a size 20 parachute adams.

First time fishing this beat and really impressed. Good access if driving to hut and plenty of lovely swims. I went down to Pylon/Luggsmouth area and had 4 good chub, mate fished on a croy near hut and had chublets trotting and 9-4 barbel on feeder. Not too bad in very difficult conditions. Will definitely be back though.
