4lb rainbow caught fishing with power bait

8 inch brownie just above the power lines. Wet and windy. Saw 3 or 4 large fish jump on the far bank. Lovely venue.

Fished from the island all day out of the rapids at the bottom end. No one time of the day was busier than the other, biggest of the barbel was around 8lb and biggest chubb around 4lb to a mixture of bait including pellets and luncheon meat.

The track down to the beat is challenging in a normal car and if there has been some rain, had issues going back up and nearly got stuck, had to turn around, go down to the bottom and was successful on second attempt.

We only had 2 hours of fishing as it was raining most of the day. 1 very small trout on a dry fly was the only nibble in those 2 hours.

No fish seen, grey cloudy day, river still very low despite the pouring rain.

Awesome day’s fishing! Fished in the woods swims. All caution feeder tactics in the faster water.
6 barbel to 10lbs 30 chub to 5lbs. What a river!
