Fished from 12pm until 6pm. Scratched around for the first three from near the bridge. Trotting meat. Eventually found them on the end of the fast water at the bottom of the beat. Fantastic sport in the fast water.

Fishing:Trout (Stillwater)

First time fishing this location, the weather was wet a breezy first thing, plenty of takes but no fish landed. Late afternoon there was a small hatch and fish rising but could make out what insect that was hatching

Area:Upper Wye

Beat:Gromain & Upper Llanstephan

Fishing:Member Rod

No. of Anglers:1

A small lift to around 11” on the Llanstephan gauge this morning. Too coloured to tempt anything to the surface but picked up fish throughout the beat, mainly on cased caddis patterns. Trout to 12” and grayling 12-14”. All good strong fighting fish in good condition which were quickly released. Nice to feel a bit of a chill with the water for a change.

10 Trout, 4 Grayling
