No hatch. No rise. Probably shouldn't have persisted in fishing dry. Still a lovely stretch of river on which to spend a summer afternoon.

Hard going on what looked like a nice push of fresh water...

4 Barbel

Fished all day in slightly coloured water but otherwise pretty perfect conditions. Fresh fish seen but no takers. Started the day at just under 1ft 6ins on the guage.

Water level up perfect level water bit to cold no fish rising all day had 6 fish on the french leader, fished the end of the beet took some on the dry blind on olives picked up the rest in the tail of the penalow pool in the evening rising to spinners. Thanks Shaun

3 Trout, 21 Grayling

Was optimistic on this new venue for us, nice place, but just the one 6lb barbel and one eel using feeder and pellet/ meat. Fished midday till 9:30, in good conditions. Not sure why the bottom field was full of campers fishing when we paid good money for the whole stretch?? as a result limited swims to fish.

only 1 chub to show for a lot of effort . Tried 4 swims throughout the day although much work required to get to water .
Weed festooned around line within seconds of feeder hitting bottom and noisy canoeists ( music and alcohol ) did not help the experience . This beat is not ideal if you want an easy day fishing and it's easy to see why it's lightly fished .

1 Chub

small but beautiful stretch of water, very well maintained. Caught early with not much going on through day but started to liven up around 6 .

5 Barbel, 2 Chub

Fly fishing River fairly clear a little bit higher than my last time out around two weeks ago probably 9inches or depth of a step
no fish taken water temperature a bit high some fish coming to the surface a couple of witch leaped high out of the water
right in front of me another nice day the casting is coming along fine well worth going

Fish taken on Boilie, Bread and pellet including an eel.
