No fish seen or caught, nice day though, nice beat. Will return to try my luck again

Plenty of midge, large dark olives and even what looked like a few iron blues coming off all day from about 3 until 7 and yet I didn't see a single fish rise all day. Maybe it is just a little early still. Caught one brownie maybe 6 inches on a small PTN on the bottom section of the beat.

Had a little difficulty finding the beat initially and spent most of my time just below and wading up about a mile from the stone bridge. Lovely stretch with high banks although this weekend the water was incredibly low and no bites over about a four hour period before giving up. Saw one fish kiss the water opposite the barracks but nothing else.

Started in the run at the very bottom of the beat around 10.30 and had a series of fish in the riffles, mostly 8-10 inches. Hooked and lost a good sized fish in the waterfall at the top of the riffles. by 1 p.m. the activity had calmed. 3 fish hooked and lost at the top end of the beat, but overall an enjoyable day which could have been trimmed to 10:30 t 14:00.

One fish @ 14", the other @ 6". Cold easterly wind, no hatch discernible. Both fish taken on weighted nymph.

Fishing very hard, most people I talked to there didn't have a bite all day. Needs stocking I think.

None of us caught anything. Only seen one chap up there that had one bite. Fingers crossed I have better luck next time.
