The river was as low as I have seen it, crystal clear and very sluggish. The day was overcast with little fly life showing, there was the occasional rising fish. Caught 2 small trout, one on dry and one on nymph. You may wish to know I saw clear evidence that someone had been fishing in one of the lower pool using luncheon meat and sweetcorn, also a spinner was caught in the trees on the opposite bank.
WUF Note: Thank you for the information, which we will pass on to the fishery owner.

Great days fishing. ....Used various baits including meat, paste and pellets ledgered Had over 20 fish barbel chub and a trout. Seen many salmon jumping clear of the water.
It ended with great excitement and trepidation as a huge herd of female cows took a shine to me and surrounded me.
Although in hindsight they were harmless I cant pretend I wasn't petrified initially.
Beautiful place, great fishing and well done John Harris on catching your first river fish on the pin....

River was in good condition and saw a couple of fish moving at the bottom of the Rocks. A fellow rod I spoke to had lost a fish late morning. Its good to see that plenty of rods are out on this part of the river at the moment. Dry flies don't catch fish! And the fish are certainly there despite what some might tell you on various internet blogs (or whatever you call them).

First time on this beat, lovely stretch. Fished the bottom end and didn't get a twitch until late evening when a small chub and 4lb barbel obliged. Conditions were not too bad, bit of push in the water and a bit of colour. An enjoyable day except for the fish who were taking the day off ...! I need to get to know this stretch a bit better so will be back.

I was teaching my son to fish - none caught but a few fish moving and wonderful setting with a light wind. One other fisherman, who encouraged him to keep going and build his experience. So a really worthwhile day as part of a couple of days' camping. My first time back at the reservoir since my own fishing there in the late 1970s, hope to come back sooner!

9lb 8oz Barbel, 2 Chub on crust/breadflake, freelined and trotted. 2 Firsts for me, more than happy, could have caught more if I'd put mor effort into catching numbers. Will be back, loads of river not yet fished. Thanks to Terry for his input.

River still high (about 1 ft above summer levels), cold and slightly coloured. Only surface activity coming from presumed salmon parr on far bank under the trees. Plenty of caddis activity above the water, and a sporadic hatch of small olives during the early afternoon. All fish were caught on a heavy tungsten beaded point fly: 5 trout from just below the boards at Llanstephan, 3 trout from infront of the hut, and the sole grayling from the deep water near Cottage. All the trout and grayling were in the 6-8" size range.

The river was still high 1'7",so again tricky wading.
Grayling were caught at the bottom of the beat, but another dry day. Celebrated my birthday the night before so felt a bit grey and really only added moral support to the others.
The girls in the foundation office were great, putting up with all my alterations to our fishing.thanks again.
