River had a hint of colour, but not the flood expected after the forecasted inch of rain for the previous night. Rises were spasmodic, firstly to Black Gnats, then to Olives then back to Black Gnat again. Not an easy day but fooled a couple.

What a beautiful spot! We caught several small brownies, but failed to land them, they craftily spitting out the not properly taken flies! Lots of flies hatching but the fish not feeding...
Watched a MINK potter along the North bank ... There was a heron fishing off the island and a lot of mallard. Fish beginning to rise a bit as we had to leave for home!(6.30 PM)
A thoroughly enjoyable day in the most beautiful part of the world - thank you Wye and Usk Foundation for making this possible through the Passport system.

1ft 3", Rain and drizzle. Managed to free up some time for a cast. Nothing in tail of Rock, lost one 4th cast in the Mill stream (mid teen and silver). Lost another in the Rectory pool, then had thumping take in the Run from a 3lb brownie! Back up to Mill stream and much lower down the spine than I have ever hooked a salmon before, a silver 18lber took the small brass allies tube. Was cutting it fine to pick up my kids by this stage and horsed it into the net in about 7mins!

Extremely wet day, river at good height. No rising fish or fly life seen. All fish caught with pheasant tail nymph fished up stream, best would be around a pound all in excellent condition.
First time on the Arrow, good interesting fishing but access could do with improving as some really excellent parts are not fish able even with a 7 foot wand.

7 Trout
