I grilse only 3lbs from Butts pool on size 12 black and silver fly. A very large fish lost spinning with single hook line broken last Wednesday at Dan-y-Park in coloured water before major rise. Fish estimated at late 20's.

Not a single bite all day, spoke to anglers in the same area and they said them same. Don't think we will return again. Very disappointed.

Area:Lower Wye

Beat:Upper Bigsweir

Fishing:Salmon

Fished with fly, the river was quite high and coloured. My first time on the Wye and saw a lot of Salmon activity in the morning. The beat was ok but would benefit from some work to give better access to the fishing. Only caught one brown trout about 1 lb in weight which was returned.

Area:Lower Wye

Beat:Middle Hill Court

Fishing:Coarse

No. of Anglers:2

30/08/15 warm, overcast day, light wind. Some light rain, heavy at times. Fished the top section of the beat with feeder tactics. Good, healthy size fish with several in the 9-10lb bracket.
I could go on and wax lyrical about this beat, the quality of the fishing, the beauty of the location but I would soon run out of superlatives. So, to keep it short and sweet I will simply say that for both my mate and I, 'it was a great days fishing'!

Had a very pleasant days fishing in stunning surroundings, even the rain in the afternoon did not spoil the day. All fish fell to feeder and pellet.

Area:Lugg & Arrow

Beat:Hindwell - Knill

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:1

I had planned to fish the Edw but arrived to find it high and coloured after overnight rain. Came back down and opted for the Hindwell which proved a good choice.
I was a bit over gunned with a 9ft 3 weight but with some improvised casting and commando style hands and knees fishing I fished French leader with 2 Tungsten bead nymphs. Caught a dozen lovely Trout from the faster water the biggest at 14 inches. Avoiding all the small Trout in the pool tails was difficult, once spooked they would race off and put the whole pool down. The only downside was a Cormorant fishing about halfway up the beat! In 4 hours fishing I only got as far as Knill farm.
