Great days fishing in tough conditions. 5 barbel taken to around the 6lb mark and 2 chub to 3lb, all fish were in beautiful condition and went back healthy. River was low and clear with a lot of weed and leaves coming down. Found 2 swims where I could fish close in, just off the flow to avoid the weed coming down the river. All 5 barbel came from the first swim and the chub from the second although I did spot a large barbel in the second swim which could have been close to double figures. The river was so clear I could watch the fish feed and take my bait in the second swim which was enjoyable. This is the second time I've fished this stretch and it won't be the last!

A bit disappointed with the fishery here. River very shallow. Looking off the bridge no real signs of fish. Fished the left bank in a deeper pool and landed 1 chub of 3lbs on bread flake early in the day, fished till 5pm as we had to drive back to London. No other bites forthcoming and the weather took a turn for the worse with driving rain and blustery winds. My friend blanked. Overall a bit of shame. Still we'll both be back soon to try some of the other beats, on this beautiful river.

Very poor day's fishing, not a bite between 3 rods all day. No sign of any fish on the length at all.

An enjoyable, but tough day on the Wye in the wind and rain. We fished hard through the unpleasant weather from dawn until dusk and were rewarded with a chub of 3lb 12oz at lunchtime and a barbel of 5lb 12oz at about 7pm.

Second visit to this beat, water levels really low even after the recent rainfall. All fish taken on feeder with pellet/sweetcorn tactics, all in fantastic condition and returned fighting fit. The weather turned really nasty about 6pm and we retired to the Greenman in Fownhope for a well earned pint or two. After the walk back to the new parking area from the lower end of the beat we deserved it, not for the faint hearted! Stan very helpful as usual, thanks W&U.

Very high winds which made fishing difficult. Also fish hard to find and moved swims many times before eventually catching on pellets.

River looked quite good, although a bit low. However, despite trying both ends of the fishery we only managed one barbel of about seven pounds between us, (and lost one when the hook pulled out). Method was pellet and feeder.
