Very cold start in the morning, warmed up and then fish started to feed. Nice hatch of flies.

3 wbt between 12" & 15" all taken on nymphs. River in beautiful condition, shame the traffic on the M5 held me back from fishing until midday!

Water at 1'5", 40-42F, clear. Weather bright and sunny. Lovely fly water but unfortunately no fish seen or caught.

Great day out first time on the rectory. No salmon seen but 3 good trout caught largest 18". Good beat instructions.

Lovely day (11.5C or so) and river at last under a foot (on Brecon scale) and running clear, if a little cold. My partner and I arrived to start fishing at around 11.15am and soon saw the odd rise (to LDOs) on the flats near the bridge. These continued until around 3pm when we chose to stop fishing. Nothing seemingly rising further up (where my partner chose to fish) but enough happening at the flats for me to miss one rise altogether, prick another, have a trout on for 20 sec or so until it slipped barbless hook and land one of 3/4lb. Pleased to see dry fly action. Odd March Brown about also.

Perfect water level, good fly water beats 2 and 5. No springers seen. One kelt from the boils where the waters meet below the island.
