1 very small WBT. Nice day but little sign of any fish.

2 Trout

Fished Sugwas Court on a really hot day with very low river conditions. It wasn't till after lunch we started to catch, first off was an Eel of about 2lb then a Barbel which was 5lb 14oz (my friends first ever so well done) then a Chub maybe a couple of pound. Mid afternoon I got my first a Barbel, 7lb 3oz then next chuck in a Barbel 8lb 5oz followed by a Chub again around 2lb. A little later on another Barbel 5lb 13oz, so a good day in all. Many thanks and what a stunning river, wildlife and scenery.

4 Barbel, 2 Chub, 1 Other

Last day of a 3 day visit and once again bright hot sunshine and a gin clear river. All the barbel were caught on halibut pellet from the swims on the beach.
The fish were starting to feed well as we were packing up, at approx 5.30pm and we are certain that by fishing into late evening a lot more fish would be caught.

5 Barbel, 3 Chub

Fishing for trout but nothing caught. Used worm with foam under hook to hold up. Tried spinning but no good.

Arrived at Talybont reservoir at 4pm and finished fishing at 8pm, no fish caught or seen to rise. Water temperature very warm with a slight breeze. Buzzer, hopper, damsel and lures used without a bite. Met two other anglers that had no success that afternoon but the surroundings made up for the lack of fish. Will be back when the weather cools down.

Really hard day due to hot weather with no overcast river. Needs a lot of water, never seen it so low. Met Terry Ward and what a gentleman he is. Nice to see someone there on the beat for a change with great advise who cares. Thanks WUF, Courtfield next!

3 Chub

Conditions not perfect but still had a great two days, had a few barbel and a lot of chub, fishing pellet. Many thanks to Terry who runs the beat.

5 Barbel, 15 Chub

Did an evening session here, 7-10pm and caught a couple as the light dropped. River was low & clear. Pellet caught as usual. A Polish couple turned up and were fishing from about 8pm. Told them to leave but when will the Wye & Usk Foundation start to clearly signpost their venues as private fishing. They claimed to "no understand it is private fishing" but having read previous reports am sure they know very well but as no comeback, turn up again!

Very warm and dry conditions.

Fished bottom of beat 3.30pm - 7.30pm. Only 1 fish, 5lb barbel on pellet.
