River slightly high and coloured, fished the morning upstream from the bridge and below the bridge in the afternoon.
Downstream of the bridge a better beat with fish caught on a mixture of dry and wet flies with occasional hatches throughout the day.
All fish returned.

Lovely evening but the river appeared devoid of fish. Then at about 9pm a couple of fish started rising. Had 1 on a stack winged olive and bumped another. Nice fish of about 12oz.

River quite high, with a fair bit of colour. Wading was quite challenging at this height, and definitely hindered our opportunities; however, there were many good rises after lunch, esp. around 150 mtrs. above the bridge, but most were just out of reach. Saw at least 8 salmon show, most in the first stretch above the bridge. Barry, the owner, was very informative and helpful with advice. No fish caught.

Fishing with fly. Flies used - weighted nymphs, buzzers, small hares ears.

River condition - not too high but good flow, water very clear. Cold wind with not many flying insects showing.

Area:Usk

Beat:Dinas

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:2

As usual this beat produced a good quantity of trout, sizes ranging between 8oz and 2lb 8oz. Both dries and nymphs took fish. Best flies were Adams, CDC's, Hares Ears.
A warm and mostly sunny day saw good numbers of large olives hatching on and off throughout the day with some very large ones coming off in late afternoon.
The moderately fast water seemed to produce the most fish.
An excellent day.
