Caught 1 fat Chub - 4lbs or so, with a scar across its head where a bird must have attacked it. Had 1 v good take below the electric cables that came to nought, & saw 18 canoes, including a group of 13 all together. Needs another foot of water was my view.

The fine sunshine saw hatches going on all day of all sorts, but only saw 2 rises - troutlets. Caught 2 x 10" trout in good condition on gold bead GRHE, neither spiders nor paras. attracted any interest. River very clear but a good flow, will try again later.

Great day. Sunny and windless and in high teens after frosty start Started at 11 and had two(returned) just under a pound browns in first hour on tups indispensable and a number of rises and takes. After lunch in pub returned and had one more take and then afternoon went flat. Stayed to 6.30 but nothing moved. Really nice place to fish. Water low and very clear.

Baking hot day brought out plenty of kayaks and sent the salmon deep into the pools. The owner, Don, was there at the beginning of the day to show me the beat and highlight the best taking spots. Plenty of great advice and a devoted, passionate river man. Just one fish to report, a two and a half pound barbel on a stoats tail fly.
The deep Courtfield pools had the occasional big salmon showing and I am sure you would have tempted one with a spinner. As I only fished the fly Don kindly let me fish the Wyebank beat which is superb fly water but the bright sunshine only highlighted the beauty of the countryside and the wildlife....there was after all only so much Don could do!

First trip out this season. River very low for March. Clear skies and unseasonally warm tempratures meant fishing conditions not good!

Fly lift started early and the LDO hatch was done and dusted by around 1pm. Caught well from the off with more than 20 Trout coming to hand with fish from 6" to 17", average fish 12". Great day, lovely bit of water and well worth a visit!

River very clear and in bright sunlight. Quite a few flies hatching at 3.00 pm but no trout seen rising. Returned one nice 3/4 lb grayling caught on gold head hares ear from streamy water. Big chub seen idling in the glides. Booking very efficient - particularly at such short notice.

Another beautiful day of fishing on the Wye! Started fishing fishing around 11am working my way down from the Vanstone Pool at the top of the beat. Had several pulls on the fly from here and the long section below but no catches to report. More pulls from Rope Pool too but again nothing stuck. So what do you do...? Decided that today was not mine on the salmon so spent the rest of it stalking trout in the Ford Stream. Fantastic sport on the dry and nymph producing two stunning 1.5lbs browns. Both returned. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
