3 fish all returned. The morning wss very foggy with low cloud and we actually drove past the lake without seeing it!
By about 12.00 noon the day had cleared and we had lovely sun and a clear day. The scenery was wonderful and we had the place to ourselves. The fish were a bit quiet and were not easy to catch although I can well believe that on a good day people catch lots and lots. Thank you for the tickets. I shall visit again soon.

Great day with AK from Ludlow. All in all 7 trout between 10 and 12 inches on a mixture of dries and nymphs. There was indeed a quick flurry of March Browns (Yes, it was the real thing) which the fish very quickly turned on to.

Blank. It's early in the season, but with the current heat wave on it's difficult to tell what might be going on. I thought I would go and have a look at least. I didn't see a rising fish, nor anything much hatching. A nice walk up the beat and a chat to other rods.

What a difference another day, and a guide make - a quite fantastic day, Kim Tribe took me to part of the beat which I have not fished before, and put me right onto a massive hatch of grannom. I had 9 fish in 40 mins without moving my feet, and finished the day with 12 fish:- 8 trout and 4 grayling all between 3/4 and one pound. I just grabbed a couple of days away, staying at the Caer Beris as usual, but didnt have time to fish the river there - too busy! Cant wait to come back in the summer. Thanks to all concerned.

A summers day in march! Plenty of hatches and fish showing but couldn't interest them on the dry, eventually 1 very nice condition brown (12") on copper head pheasant tail.

Arrived at the river at 10.15 in dazzling sunshine to find a very heavy hatch of large dark olives all ready underway. Duns were emerging so rapidly that few remained on the water to stretch their wings. This was probably responsible for sporadic surface activity. Tackled up with a tapered 13 ft leader and 7x point [3lb fluo] and a size 14 LDO nymph. Casting into the shade on the far bank ensured regular sport. Caught six trout between 1 1/4lbs and 3/4lb one spooned fish was stuffed to the gills with LDO nymphs. Successful with olive emerger later until a downstream northerly intervened. Small hatch of march browns and grannom at 1pm. All over by 2pm. Two fish retained for supper 4 returned. Saw a stoat and a kingfisher. Got a suntan. What a fabulous day!
