The water was a slightly colored and a little low. Good nymphing action in morning and dry in evening, but not soo great. Great beat and lovely owners.

Another blank day - river low and sluggish. Early weather conditions favourable but nothing showed. I appreciate that as anglers we share the river with other users but the boorish behaviour of "stag" groups coming through at increasingly regular intervals beggars belief and in the end we packed up early as conditions once again turned to clear blue skies and sunshine.

Fished an evening ticket - blank. Had about 8 takes but one of those days, I just could not connect with them. Mostly smaller fish which hit like lightning, but at least a couple of decent fish too - they just didn't stick today. Lovely place to be as usual though!

Fly fishing the beat at Dan y Parc. Novice pair of anglers; water looked a bit lower than probably normal, but plenty of fish seen moving about. Overcast for much of the day with a decent breeze blowing downstream which made life a bit tricky for our inexperienced attempts.
Tried nymph for the most part. Nothing was rising and nothing was interested in our offers.
Lovely place to spend the day though.

Water low and gin clear . 5 to olive dry all between 13 _17 inches . Few big lumps rising in areas unable to get an accurate cast to die to backside vegetation. Rain desperately needed

Tough day didn't start well when I picked up a huge piece of wire in one of the tyres so had a trip to Kwik Fit for a new one . Fishing was amazing but the catching not so. The track down is ingenious and well thought out just takes a slow low gear up and down and I was fine in my little car. I love beats where they are natural with no swims cut out and this was it. 1 barbel caught rolling meat in the rapids. Wildlife was amazing now for the bad part.

Canoes were a nightmare, I have never in 15yrs on the river seen so many. Families were great but the vast stag parties, drunk adults, loud music and cannabis smoking took the proverbial. There multiple instances of messing around and being stupid in the swim and also throwing of cigarettes into the river. We packed up early as it just wasn't worth it. It's a great venue for early morning and late evening in the holidays and until someone regulates the canoe companies its just going to get worse. I was also struck by a canoe across my legs whilst in the water playing a fish, whether deliberate or just an accident I don't know. I couldnt get out of the water as I was playing a barbel which was very clear and despite having acres of room all three in the group came straight at me, despite my repeated verbal warnings. One hit me hard as it turned a foot away from me, the other went under my rod and the other one over the fish. Yes I am aware of the rights of way and was doing my best to get out of the water, but the barbel struck the meat as I was reeling in to get back on the bank. Also very difficult to see identification of most canoes either the name was faded or not there , I am sure that there are reputable companies out there but someone somewhere needs to sort it out.
