Second day at Middle Hill was more productive than the first despite the bright conditions that we encountered like the previous Sunday. Had Barbel and Chub on the float and feeder from various swims. A nice bonus Grayling caught too.

Good access via orchard car park at top of the venue to this beautiful stretch of the Wye. Wye was low ish and dropping and looked great but the 3 of us really struggled in the normally productive shallow section near the car park. Disappointed that access to swims much more difficult and without chest waders and rope and spike only one of us would have been able to fish. Float and maggot or caster caught small dace trout and one nice 1lb grayling for John. Mick had a last gasp chub right across on bomb and meat .

2 fish caught & 2 lost mid to late morning & then not a single sign of interest for the rest of the day. Nonetheless a fabulous day by the river as usual. Fish took in bright sunlight with cloud cover most of the afternoon. Always something to see if you keep your eyes & ears open. Bird life was it's usual spectacle from the tiny to the huge!
Thanks again Terry, Farmers & WUF.

Lovely small-river fishing with lovely tail-outs and pools. Unfortunately could not buy a bite on this day. Nil return.

Barbel caught first cast while morning mist still heavy. It then became a very hot, bright, and clear day and we struggled to locate any more barbel but had a few decent chub - biggest 4lb.
