Weather constantly changing throughout day. Nothing coming to worm, spin or fly.

Autumn has suddenly arrived and the early morning and dusk temperatures have dropped. A lovely day again here with trout in abundance. I'm still lost for what they are taking. I had two bites from my favorite nymph, but nothing else. I must renew my strategy for next season. No sign of salmon. It's getting late in the year now. Maybe some rain will help.

Hard going in the morning but things picked up mid afternoon. Plenty of fish rising, mainly to tiny stuff that was impossible to match. A few larger olives were coming off however which interested a few fish in my emerger patterns.
All the grayling were around the pound mark and exceptional fighters. Nice beat that I will definitely fish again.

Tough conditions once again on this stunning beat. Had two barbel and 4 chub. Thanks to Don and WUF. Will be back!

2 Barbel, 4 Chub

Conditions were quit hard with very low water and lots of canoes!!! (most were ok ). Feeding time was early morning and dusk but did take 2 fish in the afternoon around 3ish. The fish were all in great condition, barbel was 9lbs 8oz and had a good chub nudging 5lbs. Bait was pellet and home made paste and hook baits. Slow fishing but a nice place to be.

Only certain beats on the wye can fish in low conditions and this is one of them. Best place we found was the first four swims near the Rock. All fish caught on halibut and feeders.

River was low and clear. Had a barbel from beat 4 at the end of island on pellet and paste, and a chub from best 5. Was tough going but had a great time!

Sunny spells with occasional light rain and wind. Very little surface activity, although a pearly parachute elicited a couple of acrobatic rises. Most fish taken on black copper john, only two on the dry. Trout were 6 to 9 inches, grayling 8 to 12. A thoroughly lovely day.

A beautiful beat, even if the water was a little on the low side. Only 2 fish caught, more the fault of the anglers than the beat. Fish only showing at the extreme ends of the beat made for a great deal of walking. The owner of the caravan site very friendly looks a good place to stay if accomodation needed.
