Slightly frustrating day - plenty of fish seen but so difficult to approach without them scattering. Spent plenty of time crawling on my knees or sitting down to cast but they always seemed to know I was there. Not sure if this stream is always so low and clear. Managed two small ones(5-6 inches)and finished with a very fat 12 inch wbt at the end of the day. Flies that caught were a gold bead PTN, baetis nymph and a grey Wulff.

Went for an early start and caught a 6lbs 2 oz barbel at 05-30. A few small chub later in the morning, all the fish on pellets. Barbel still scarce.

Tough day in awful weather. Howling downstream wind and rain showers. Don't blame the fish for keeping their heads down. One tiddler and one of about a pound at 10pm was the only reward. Lovely beat though, will be back in nicer weather.

Had a lovely days fishing, 1 barbel and 3 chub landed, also lost 2 barbel to a snag in the swim. All fish fell to feeder fished pellet. Banks where very steep in places making it very tricky to get into swims in the wet weather but a beautiful place non the less. Thanks.

This really is a fantastic stretch of water with probably every type of Barbel swim going. Having had some useful information from a local tackle shop we were dissapointed to also find out that the river was fishing poorly due to the unseasonal weather and late spawning. We stuck it out all day searching from spot to spot and managed to get 6 out with 3 above 8lbs and 1 touching the 10lbs mark. A very pleasent day but not as prolific as we had hoped. Roll on July!

Water level seemed very low. Water also seemed strangely opaque / milky in faster flowing sections which I've not seen before. No fish seen and hence none caught, even so pleasant few hours spent in lovely surroundings.

Fishing tough, rain and wind all day. I did not see one rise thoroughout the river. Even though I didn't see or catch a fish I still like this beat will return when the weather warms up a bit.

River very low and weather not very kind. Could not locate any Barbel in the Meadow beat only a few Chub. One of the rods did locate 6 Barbel to 7lb just above the Boat pool lower down but lost a lot of terminal gear in doing so.
A great beat having an off day.

It was a very windy day with conditions not ideal. Both my brother and I were trying for barbel fishing halibut pellets on open ended feeder rigs. My brother caught 4 barbel to about 6lbs in weight and I caught 1 barbel and 1 small chub. Very enjayable day in lovely surroundings.

Brown with yellow/orange hackle, small aluminium tube fly (self tied no name fly) on floating line. Approx 10 lb, fresh silver fish released mid stream by grabbing line and taking out fly with fish still in water. No photo, no length, did not see sea lice but did not examine too closly due to quick release method. Will be back when I get over the canoes! A roped together lot nearly came over me infact.
